T3 President Joins Governor's Business Council

October 03, 2003

Gay Warren Gaddis, president and founder of T3 (The Think Tank), an integrated marketing services firm with offices in Austin, Texas, and New York, was recently invited to join the Governor's Business Council (GBC).

The GBC was created in 1994 as a non-partisan 501c(6) non-profit organization and designed to assist the Governor of the State of Texas with economic development by:

ï providing advice, research and counsel in the development and implementation of laws, regulations and programs to improve the business climate in Texas ï providing advice and counsel regarding elimination and modification of statutory, regulatory and structural impediments to economic development in Texas ï actively participating in the Governor's economic development outreach efforts.

"The experience Gay brings to us as a successful advertising executive, former member of the Lower Colorado River Authority and community activist will be a tremendous asset to the Governor's Business Council," said Justin Yancy, Executive Director, Governor's Business Council. "We are very excited that Gay has agreed to serve on our Economic Development Task Force."

There are approximately 100 GBC members. To qualify for membership, a person must be the Chief Executive Officer, President, Managing Director of the Board of Directors, or the top senior executive for his or her employer. Membership is comprised of leaders of small, medium, and large corporations, of both for-profit and non-profit status. The Executive Committee of the GBC is responsible for membership criteria.

Gaddis will work with other council members to help the Governor work for a better Texas. Governor Rick Perry continues to focus on moving Texas forward by creating greater opportunities that benefit all citizens of our state. He is very supportive of the work of the GBC and the role that it plays in our state.

To better serve the Governor's needs and address state concerns, the GBC has created four task force groups to study and promote education, transportation, Texas/Mexico opportunities and economic development.

Currently, Charles E. McMahen, Vice Chairman of Compass Bank, serves as GBC Chairman.
