My husband and I were standing in line at Old Navy on Memorial Day, trying to decide whether to grab some food on the way home or go straight there, when he remembered that A&E’s new documentary series, “Obsessed,” was supposed to premier that night. Since recent home renovations have left us DVR-less, the question of eating in or eating out depended entirely on one thing: the time of the premier.
I dug my iPhone out of my purse, opened Safari, and typed in “A&E mobile schedule.” One might argue that my query was quite specific, but hey — I’m an information architect. What do you expect?
The top result was the mobile schedule, so I clicked through. The page was a list of shows and times: simple, utilitarian, and exactly what I needed. The top of the page pointed out featured series. Bam! There it was!
As turned out, we didn’t need to be home until 9 p.m., so we were able to sneak in a quick post-errands dinner date before heading home to watch the premier. Satisfying Memorial Day. And satisfying user experience. It’s great to find examples of mobile done right.
